ISRS 2017

RTsafe is pleased to announce its participation in the 13th Meeting of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society Congress (ISRS), that takes place in Montreux, Switzerland, from May 28th to June 1st, 2017. NYU Langone Medical Center and RTsafe P.C

NYU Langone Medical Center and RTsafe P.C. are collaborating on a research project for the potential dosimetric validation of mask‐based radiosurgery using pseudo‐in‐vivo 3D dosimetry and ion chamber phantoms, see images below, developed by RTsafe. The proposed study will test two questions related to dose delivery during cranial radiosurgery: first, what is the dosimetric accuracy of frameless Gamma Knife treatment delivery, and second, how does mask‐based irradiation with the Gamma Knife Icon compare with frame‐based gamma knife radiosurgery data and VARIAN Edge frameless SRS data.

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München Department for Medical Physics

RTsafe is proud to announce the launching of its strategic partnership with the Department of Experimental Physics - Medical Physics at LMU Munich, Germany. The cooperation evolves around Proton Therapy End-to-End QA, Proton Dosimetry, LET and range uncertainty evaluation projects. Proton irradiations are being carried out at the Rinecker Proton Therapy Center (RPTC) in Munich, Germany, in the framework of an agreement between the LMU Medical Physics Department and RPTC.

Marina Hatsopoulos

RTsafe is delighted to announce that entrepreneur and angel investor, Marina Hatsopoulos has made an equity investment in RTsafe. Ms Hatsopoulos has experience in both 3D printing and medical technology, both of which are at the core of RTsafe's commercial offering. She is currently a Director of Cynosure Inc., a $340 million leader in the laser aesthetics market. Ms Hatsopoulos was previously the founding CEO and primary investor in 3D printing leader, Z Corporation, from 1994 through to its sale in 2005. She is also Chair of Levitronix Technologies, a leader in magnetically-levitated pumps, and has served as Director of the GSI Group, a $300 million supplier of medical laser technology and Contex Holding, a $100 million manufacturer of large-format scanners.

San Antonio Hospital

RTsafe is proud to announce its newly established cooperation with the University of Texas Health Science Center (Cancer therapy & research center), San Antonio, Texas, USA. The cooperation evolves around the Single Isocenter Multiple Metastasis Stereotactic Radiosurgery – Benchmarking and Patient Specific Plan Verification project and RTsafe would be a treasured collaborator and researcher on this work.

Brainlab AG recently announced that its new software has been used for the first time in the U.S. at Jefferson Hospital for Neuroscience in Philadelphia to deliver a tailored radiosurgery treatment to a patient who was diagnosed with cancer that had metastasized to the brain. Brainlab AG relied on the RTsafe quality assurance products to validate this procedure, using an anatomically perfect effigy of the patient’s head and brain.

RTsafe has announced its collaboration with Brainlab, the Munich-based developer of software-driven medical technology. RTsafe’s innovative technology is used for commissioning, benchmarking and periodic end-to-end personalized quality assurance services for the ‘Automatic Brain Metastases Planning’ (ABMP) treatment planning system in radiation oncology centers in the USA (San Antonio, Philadelphia, Boston) and Europe (UK and Israel).
