RTsafe and ISRS join hands: RTsafe’s independent dosimetry services are part of the ISRS accreditation service

14July 2021

ATHENS, Greece, July 14, 2021

RTsafe, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding and partnership agreement with the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (ISRS) to provide its succeSRS auditing and independent dosimetry services towards supporting the ISRS Accreditation service. This agreement seals a global partnership between RTsafe and ISRS, which aims to promote the best practice and assure high-quality stereotactic treatments.

External dosimetry audits are recognized as the ultimate method of evaluating the overall treatment accuracy, safety and efficiency. RTsafe’s variety of solutions form the new generation of QA and external dose verification in radiosurgery, covering all stages involved. Part of the RTsafe’s recently introduced audit service “succeSRS”, are the remote dosimetry services that will be offered to ISRS for their accreditation service of stereotactic radiosurgery centers. These services aim to evaluate the dosimetric quality, planned dose accuracy, and treatment deliverability of SRS procedures. RTsafe’s remote dosimetry services provide absolute dosimetry of high accuracy and reliability, assuring traceability to a primary standard dosimetry laboratory.

“Independent dosimetrical audit is important to ensure the safe provision of radiosurgery” said Ian Paddick, Co-chair of the ISRS Accreditation Committee and Past-President.

“We’re delighted to partner with RTsafe and to have access to their End-to-End testing technology for providing state-of-the-art dosimetrical audits as part of our new accreditation service”

ISRS has been a driver of and a participant in the widespread adoption of the technique of stereotactic radiation delivery as an integral part of the therapeutic armamentarium for a wide array of benign and malignant disorders. As technology continues to evolve, allowing ever more precise and conformal treatments, the ISRS remains on the forefront of elucidating best practices and the clinical outcomes of the technique. The ISRS is committed to raising the level of quality of SRS treatment delivery around the world and promoting the highest levels of clinical expertise. The ISRS Accreditation Service aims to recognize centers that demonstrate best practice in terms of patient selection, treatment planning, dosimetry and patient care in intracranial SRS. The service is equally suited to experienced centers or those that are starting to treat for the first time and would benefit from an external audit.

“We are truly proud of RTsafe’s global partnership with ISRS towards supporting its Accreditation service.” said Evangelos Pappas, Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at RTsafe.

“The fact that the ISRS has selected RTsafe’s  independent dosimetry services to be part of its Accreditation Service, brings to us even higher responsibility and acts as an additional motivation to exhibit the highest levels of commitment to excellence”.
